William & Jonathon were so excited to ride the bus to school. but being a mom and wondering if they'd get off the bus ok and get to where they needed to be Owen and I drove to the school to make sure they did just that. as i carried Owen from the bus stop across the street to our house we were both crying. i tried not to cry very much, didn't want Owen to worry.

i guess when they get off the bus an older student walks the kindergarten kids to where they need to be. i almost went and thanked the girl!

their teachers each had the kids wave to their mommies and daddies as they went into school. we waved one more time and walked back to the van. once again crying a little. then we went to the wonderful Lehi Bakery to be comforted. it worked a little. then we went to story time at the library. after the library i told we need to get milk. first i made a stop at Old Navy though. when we got to the door Owen said, "this isn't the milk store!" and i thought William and Jonathon were at school! guess they've rubbed off on to Owen! let's just say Owen had a kind of hard day. at the grocery store i got the cart and was waited for Owen to follow me. i told him to "come on" he looked at me then ran out the door and into the parking lot. nice...we made it home, had some more donuts then waited for bus to come.
Waiting...
the bus was a little late. i figured the boys were on it for almost 40 mins. the bus driver said the first week it's longer till she gets used to where all the kids live since she drops them off at their houses. when William and Jonathon got off they said it was a 'Long ride'.
after their first day of school! they said they had a great day and they were hungry....time for lunch.
i know a few people were thinking about me on the boys' first day of school. (thank you) i was kind of relieved when no one called though. i think i would have really started to cry then. my mom called about the time i was at the grocery store and by then Owen was making me forget all about why i was crying earlier. getting the boys on the bus the second day of school went good. i waited back and just waved as the climbed the stairs to get in. as the bus drove away i only had a little lump in my throat.

oh i love those pictures. Sounds like you handled it great to me. They are so grown up now. I also love that you drove to the school. I would have too ;)
You did great, the boys did great! Good idea about having an older kid to walk them to class. I like that. You and Owen are cute waiting for the bus. I hope you got the maple donut :) 40 minutes is a long ride! You can tell home much you treasure your children...thanks for sharing the moment with us!
Awe that was the best documentation of a kids first day of school! Thanks for sharing! You are the cutest Mom to wait for them at the bus stop and then go to school and make sure they got there ok!
Soooo...I know it's a couple of days late but HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BMF!!! Love ya!! :)
thats awesome! Thanks for the bigger update. so glad it all went well. And what a great idea to go to the school and get a couple pictures :) maybe that was harder but at least for their first day you knew they were safe! How nice that the bus picks them up right in front of your house, our kids go to a stop, I don't like it.
