cleanest room in the house...

i fell asleep. in the middle of the day. when i woke up a few thoughts went through my head. "how long was i out?" "where are the kids?" "oh crap, where are the kids and what are they doing!?!" i figured i was out no more than 40 mins. a lot can happen in that amount of time. all three boys were in William and Jonathon's room. they got a package of blackberries from out of the fridge and ended up THROWING THEM AGAINST THE WALL! later Jonathon told me they wanted to have a party like with water balloons and throw them at things. lets just say the blinds were taken down to be cleaned, the window washed, all the walls and closest doors cleaned, carpet shampooed, all sheets and blankets washed. i think i handled it pretty well too. no screaming at them, they knew they were in trouble. they helped me clean in up as much as they could and had a 30 min. time out, which they were quiet for the entire time. but really half of it is my own darn fault. i shouldn't have fallen asleep. so i'm happy to say i still have three children, no one was harmed after this incident. i didn't take any pictures, i was a little bit mad in the moment. after it all got cleaned up i found this lone blackberry behind the bookshelf and took a picture.

at the store we bought the blackberries and a special thing for Russ, he likes blackberries. and we got a watermelon for the boys as their special thing. so i sat down with the boys talking about what kind of punishment they thought they should get for this happening. Jonathon said we should take the watermelon back to the store since it was something they wanted. i thought that was a pretty good idea, except i didn't want to take it all the way back to the store. so after they boys went to bed i took it to a neighbors. they thought the whole thing was kind of funny and happily took the watermelon off our hands. when i asked William about what we should do, he said, "well, are you gonna buy those again?" i figured that was his way of saying, "don't buy those again because i won't be able to help myself, they were just too fun to throw." in the end we all did laugh at it. the boys can't think about it without laughing. at the store the other day we passed the blackberries and the boys looked at them, then me, and tried not to giggle.
in other news my sister was working on a new book, so i got to put a quilt together for it. i wanted the boys to have bigger quilts for their twin size bed. i showed them the fabric for their quilts and they were so excited for them to be finished. i did William's first since it was going in konda's book. she took it to take pictures of it while i finished Jonathon's. she ended up going on a trip while i was still working on Jonathon's, so she had William's for a long time. William asked me, "how many pictures does she need?!" they just really wanted their quilts to be done. it's fun they were so excited about them.

Those quilts are awesome! And about the blackberries....you are a better mom than I! I would've yelled...but then again, it's for those same reasons I don't nap! Even though they did that...you have good boys!
