what a crazy week! and it's only wednesday!
monday: i have to report for jury duty at 8 am in american fork. only get a little bit lost, arrive 5 minutes early, snowing outside, the doors aren't unlocked until 8 am, everyone reporting for jury duty is standing outside in the snow until they unlock the door, go through metal detector, realize i have a pocket knife on my keys, have to take it to my car, finally get to court room, fill out an info form, watch a video, they ask lots of questions, eventually get chosen to stay on the jury. (30 people came, they selected only 8) it was a real learning experience for me and i am grateful to live in a country that we have the right to a trial by jury. my case was a little complicated, domestic violence with a deadly weapon. this lady in a truck...her husband gets on the hood...she drives a little way...he is able to get off without injury...drama of a divorce gone bad....we ended up finding her not guilty mostly for the fact that there was a tiny bit on doubt on one thing, anyway, it was a good experience in most ways and it others it was hard. just the weight of deciding someones life is kind of heavy. i ended up getting home just before 7 pm. long day! and thanks to mary anne for doing her civil service by tending my kids...ALL DAY! she took these pictures of the boys eating popcorn. she said he gave them each their own bowl and when they finished they all shared the big bowl.

tuesday: a lady in our ward had some kind of unexpected surgery a few days ago and is suppose to stay in bed. she has two kids at home, a boys william & jonathon's age and a girl older than owen. i guess the kids have been at other peoples homes the last two days so she wanted them to stay home. so we wen to her house around 10 am and got home after 3 pm. another long day of not being at your own home. the kids played great together, at least they had a good time.
wednesday: (today) we have mother's group at 10:30-they are doing some kind of valentine's thing. then i have to go to the grocery store! we are on our last cup of milk. william & jonathon's birthday is on monday but we will be either in st. george or arizona. (probably driving between the two) so today is the only day we can have birthday cake with russ and the boys. some how i need to make a black and orange cake that doesn't look too halloween-ish. these boys and their favorite colors!
thursday: regular day but in the evening at 6:30 pm my sister is teaching her quilting class. if i knew how right now there would be a link to look at the previous post about the class. (so go look at the older post now) it's not too late to take the class. if you want to come but forgot to sign up come anyway! i am making all the boys little tiny quilts. (doll quilt size...but boys don't use doll quilts right) i found some really cool rocket fabric i'm going to use. i hope they turn out as i am picturing them in my mind! so yeah, that is from 6:30-9 pm. COME!
friday: we are leaving to go see russ' grandparents in st. george. from their mary anne & i (and the kids of course) will be driving to arizona. i am sad to hear they also received some snow yesterday. one of the reasons to go was to get away from snow!! oh well...
so on the others days i also need to prepare to be gone for around a week and a half.
i did finish our taxes!! which is great. i am now anxiously awaiting the refund to come so i can persuade russ to let me get a new sewing machine. he has mostly said yes, i am just trying to justify it to myself at the moment.
SO happy birthday to william & jonathon today...i'm glad they don't really know other wise and will not be too disappointed in everything relating to their birthday. they'll get a cake with frosting and some type of toy (that i hope to buy today). that is all they will care about, and they'll love it! kids are great...i should stop stressing about it. in fact...i'm done stressing! but i don't think i'll enjoy the fact that it is snowing right now and we have a lot of errands to run. be happy & enjoy your day too!

man, you are busy. let me know if work day isn't going to work out for you tomorrow since you have to leave Friday. The boys were so fun eating their popcorn...and what a long day for jury duty. Have fun at the party tonight!
You could make an orange basketball and black/white soccer ball. Either bake them in a metal bowl so they are half of a ball (make two of course) or just draw them on the cake. You can make really black frosting if you buy the wilton (i think it's wilton) paste...not just food coloring.
I know it is so hard to have a crazy busy week especially when you are trying to get ready to go on a trip! It'll be fun to see you guys soon though! And don't worry, our snow is all gone and I don't think it is in the forecast again for a long time...like probably another year :) Happy Birthday Boys!!
I've never had jury duty, but I've always wondered what it was like, what a scary decision to make. You guys are coming to AZ? That's fun!! Will you be in SV the whole time? Random question, but when you get the chance do you think you can send me the code for that LDS gadget you have on your blog? I've been wanting to put one on mine but I can't ever find the code!! Wow, you're busy. I'm glad to know I don't have to rush the boys' presents though. Yes, they ARE getting something! I had to order some things that STILL have not come yet, so I was worried about it. Since you won't be home, no big deal.

What a busy week! I guess you are in AZ now, visiting and recouperating from last week. I'm glad you got chosen for jury duty. It is kind of cool to sit on a jury but you are right, it is heavy to decide someone's future like that.
I can't believe the boys are 4 either! They are growing so fast.
I also can't believe I am going to give you computer advice - to put the link from a previous post, go to that post and click on it. Copy the link from the browser and paste it into your new post. Easy. How was the quilt class? BTW, do you make any of your own or the boy's clothes? That would be a great way to convince Russ you need a sewing machine. You might want to leave out the part where fabric is expensive and you can buy most clothes for less! I used to save a bunch sewing my kid's clothes but for some reason fabric went way up in cost. Have fun in AZ. Did you get my package before you left? By now my comment is longer than your blog post!
