this is why...

it is hard to see William & Jonathon go to kindergarten.

in this picture the boys are around 2 weeks old. we brought them home at 2 1/2 weeks old. how did it happen that they are now old enough to leave their mama at home and go to school?! wow! they grew up pretty quick...

Russ gave William & Jonathon each a blessing the night before school started. it was a neat experience for them i think. Russ did William first, he got off the chair, so Owen jumped up for his turn. i figure he needed one just as much as the other boys. so Owen got one too.

we're going on the first 7 days of school and William & Jonathon still love it! Wednesday Owen and i were sitting outside waiting for the bus to come drop the boys off. we kept waiting and waiting. about 25 minutes after they are supposed to be dropped off i see a bus drive by slowly. i stand up thinking it's them. they bus driver is looking at a paper and didn't see me. he kept going. so i thought maybe it was the afternoon bus late. i call a friend on the next street over who has an afternoon kindergartner to check. she said no their bus already came. i told her about the boys being late, she said to call. i didn't want to sound paranoid calling to check on their bus, but she assured me they should have been home by now. called the school, they said there was a substitute bus driver. got off the phone friend called said she had my boys. she said the bus was passing her house so she stopped it and got the boys off. thank goodness i called her. i was kind of starting to worry. (just a bit...or a lot!) i didn't want to leave the house to go after the bus in case the boys did come back. it all worked out in the end. then i told the boys if the bus driver ever goes past their house they need to tell them. funny.

Whew! Crisis averted. I've heard so many horror stories about kids and buses that I think I'm going to have to drive my kids. I'm glad they were okay! I would have had a heart attack!
