took the boys up to Gardener Village last week. there were a ton of witches all over! they were life size i guess you could say. there was a paper you could get to to find a dozen or so and if you found them all you could get a cookie for $25 from their bakery. the first witch that we came to that they could actually get close to was the one in the top right corner picture. she had a cage of different creatures. i told the boys to stand right in front of her for the picture. william looks at me and say something like "not that close." i guess they were a little nervous. after seeing more they were able to get a little closer, but i thought it was funny. well, owen still didn't want anything to do with them.
making halloween house with magnets on the back. it was fun to see their creations. at one point william's had ears and jonathons was a spooky tower.
as a new tradition i decided to make pillow cases for certain times of year. we done christmas ones since i was a kid and i always loved it. now we'll do halloween, maybe thanksgiving, valentines, maybe easter, fourth of july, birthdays, etc.
for some reason we never got around to go pick pumpkins. a neighbor told me about this great little pumpkin patch that a older couple have. you just come pick your own and leave some money. the first time we were going to go after dinner, then it got dark. the next time we were going to go before dinner and the weather was bad. i wanted to do it when russ could come so it would be a family thing. saturday got busy and we still had no pumpkins. yesterday we made our own. they turned out pretty good. jonathon-brown, owen-blue, william-orange.
jonathon has wanted to be batman for halloween for a long time. he told me he needed a cape and mask. william wanted to be a dragon for a little bit, but i didn't want to make a costume for that so we were looking for other options. owen we still don't know what he'll be. he loves batman, so when he sees jonathon as batman he might want to be the same. between my mom and sister-in-law erin, we have 4 batman masks, 2 THING (rock guy from fantastic four), a skeleton, and peter pan. last night i stayed up too late making capes, 2 batman and 1 superman. william likes who ever is strongest. (since according to him he is the strongest) so for halloween he will be the THING since he is made of rock and super strong, but he doesn't wear a cape, so he needed a superman cape since he is the strongest too. i think we are ready for halloween. except the boys thing i need to dress up as well and keep asking what i am going to be. i've had many suggestions, snow, crayon, ghost, witch, the list goes on but my memory does not. i wore some scrubs for our activity day halloween party so i said i was a doctor. i even had a mask thanks to my sister having her baby so i was at the hospital to grab one. but the boys say i can't be a doctor again. oh well, off to make sugar cookies before owen wakes up. that way the boys can help me. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Cute pictures. That was funny about not getting too close to the witches. Haha. You are a good mom to do all those activities with the boys!
Halloween is so fun! I love their pumpkins!
Gardner Village looks so fun! Love the pillowcases -- that stripe is great!
Okay thats funny, you definately ended up with enough costumes for this halloween and a few to come...we just leave them in a box and the kids dress up in them all year. I am amazed that your boys made pumpkins look so cute....great job. we didn't carve our pumpkins until halloween day because we have all been so sick, finally we were running out of time so the boys and I did them...they did good but I didn't even take pictures and tav smashed them all this morning! Go figure eh. My kids were just happy that I even took them out at all...I still wasn't feeling so great, but I am feeling pretty good right now...thank goodness! See you all soon...hows the bag coming :) lol later erin
