i come home from the store, being gone less then an hour to william & jonathon outside being yelled at by russ. russ is saying, "what else did you put in there? TELL ME, what else is in there!!!" (something like that anyway.) russ had been changing the brakes on the van and went inside to check on the boys. he walks in to find the bathroom flooding with a clogged toilet. now, although i was not here to witness what happened next i am sure it went down in true male fashion...two boys getting good swats on their bums, russ throwing all our towels on the ground, two boys getting yelled at to go outside, then russ pulling out two red santa clause hats and an elmo train out of the toilet. this was about the time i got home. russ was trying to figure out if they put anything else down the toilet. so i quietly ask jonathon what he put in the toilet, "hats, elmo train, and rubber band." i guess russ got it all. there must have also been a lot of toilet paper, because i had just changed the roll the day before. now for some reason this was all very funny to me, mostly because it did not happen to me. the only thing i tell russ is that you just can't leave them alone for that long. next i tell the boys i'm not happy with them and go to clean up the mess. they are eating their lunch. russ comes back in, they boys ask if he is happy, russ says no, they say, "no mommy happy." i'm in the bathroom still laughing over it all. (sorry this is getting long...the next part is a conversation william and i had a little bit later."
william-"mommy happy?"
me-"i don't know."
(i'm trying to keep a straight face, but can't help but smile at him. i try to get a grumpy face and tell them i'm not happy, we smile at that.) oh, also, i was just finishing feeding owen.
william-"owen happy?"
owen laughing...
me-"yep, owen happy."
william-"one happy, no daddy happy, no mommy happy, owen happy."
me-"are you happy william"
william-"no"
me-"are you sad?"
william-"no"
me-"are you mad?"
william-"no"
me-"what are you? are you in trouble?"
william-"yep."
now maybe you just had to be there for all of this, but i thought it was funny! i love how kids think things through. we only had one happy person and that was owen. today, we are all happy!

well at least Russ caught it before you had any problems. Sariah stuck an apple in the toilett right after we moved in and then flushed it like a million times. Then we used the plunger a million times to try to get the toilett paper down not realizing what was in there. Then we finally brought all the kids in and asked who put something in the toilett and sariah said she did so we asked what and she said "my apple" so then we had to go buy a snake to get it out. Ugh oh well its all over. Good story though eh.
your boys really keep you on your toes huh? sounds like tons of fun!! At least you get a good laugh at it though!
